Stars and Stripes Series Part 2

The second part of the Stare and Stripes series includes two different tournament dates, May 12th and May 26th. Both were successful events with a mix of some great match up of teams in each age divisions. The top four teams in each age division will qualify for the AAS National tournament in San Antonio this July 5th – 8th.

For the May 12th event here are the tournament champions:
For this event VYPE had one High School girls’ division filled with 15u and 16u teams. The Shooting Starz came to play and ended the day with a 40 – 16 win in the championship game.

The 10U boys’ division championship game was a match up between the two TJ Ford teams. Both teams had a great day of games.

11u division also had a program with two teams playing one another in the championship game. The two teams from Texas PRO also had a great day in the 11u division.

In the 12u division the Texas Bad Boys came to town from the San Antonio area to show that they can compete with some of the best in Houston.

The 13u division was split into a Red and Blue division. The Houston Hoops Blue Chips took home the championship for the Red division. In the Blue division the Cy-Fair Kings took home the championship.

The Scholar Athletes organization took home the championship for the 14u and 15u division. In the 15u division Scholar Athletes made it to the championship by a 1-point win in overtime against Basketball University.

16u division was won by the very entertaining Mo City Ballers.

The 17U division championship game was between Basketball University and Elevation Sports. Lead by impressive guard play and a 6’11 post player Elevation Sports was too much for Basketball University in the end. It was easy to see that Elevation Sports has extremely talented athletes on the court, but the talk of the tournament was how respectful this group of athletes are off the court as well.

In the May 26th event HTX – ICE brought two teams and took home two championships. They had teams that won in the 11u and 12u division.

The 13u division for the event was won by a new team put together by the Hyperfuse program. In their first event they took home a championship trophy.

For May 26th Stars and Stripes VYPE hosted a showcase division for a few 15u and 16u teams. The four teams who played were: Shooting Stars, UpNext, Houston Hoops and RL9. The fast pace and entertaining battle between Houston Hoops and RL9 ended up being the game of the showcase.

Thank you again for all of the teams who choose to participate in our VYPE Hoops events.  We could not have the great events we do without all the help from coaches, athletes and spectators.  Good luck to all of the teams who will be participating in the AAS National Championship.
